Georgia Bureau of Investigation Coastal Regional Crime Laboratory
Georgia Bureau of Investigation
- Laboratory planning and design through CA
- MEP planning and design through design development and peer review of construction documentation
- Lab equipment planning
This new Regional Crime Laboratory replaced the existing GBI Coastal/Savannah Crime Lab to proactively address the growing demand for forensic services in the southeastern region of the state. The existing laboratory facility did not have adequate space or infrastructure to accommodate the anticipated increase in forensic services that would have resulted from a growing population (50% by 2030) in this part of Georgia.
The program included biology/DNA, controlled substances/chemistry, toxicology, trace evidence, medical examiner pathology and morgue, related support, evidence control, administration and offices.
